Daily Devotional--1/4/10


1 Timothy 1:8-11

8We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9We also know that lawis made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

1 Corinthians 15:1-3

1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

  • What was committed or entrusted to Paul?
  • What did Paul declare?
  • How did they respond to the gospel?
  • Sound Christian doctrine refers to that which is healthy and wholesome and produces spiritual life and growth. What steps can you take today to pursue and declare sound Christian doctrine?
